Will your MP
back the breakthroughs?

Behind every breakthrough in cancer research are real people. Scientists, nurses, patients on trials. But they can't do it alone.

Right now, the UK's research system is being held back. We need our politicians to play their part.

Cancer Research UK will be hosting an event in Parliament on the future of cancer research in the UK, where MPs can learn more about the role they can play in supporting life-saving research.

Invite your MP to join us.

We know that MPs are more likely to attend our events when invited by their constituents - will you ask them to join us and back the breakthroughs?

By filling in the short form with your details and clicking the ‘I'll invite my MP’ button, you’ll be taken to an email to your MP that you can edit. Use it to tell your MP why you think they should attend Cancer Research UK's event.

Our Parliamentary event “Back the Breakthroughs: a panel discussion on the future of UK cancer research” will mark the launch of the documentary series 'Cancer Detectives: Finding the Cures', airing from 20th November and available to stream on Channel 4.

The panel discussion will be a unique opportunity for your MP to hear from some of the innovators shaping the future of cancer research, such as Professor Sarah Blagden, who is developing a groundbreaking lung cancer prevention vaccine.

The discussion will also explore the patient impact of clinical trials and MPs can learn how they can support research and development in their constituency.
