Will your MP join us this World Cancer Day?

'Not every cancer patient has the experience I did. I was told I was “very lucky” multiple times, but truthfully, I didn’t feel lucky at all. But, in England, the proportion of cancers being diagnosed at an early stage has hardly changed for almost a decade. The upcoming National Cancer Plan is a chance to change that.Victoria, Cancer Research UK Campaigns Ambassador.

The National Cancer Plan for England will be a decade defining moment for cancer.  That’s why, this World Cancer Day, Victoria and other Cancer Research UK campaigners, along with our policy experts will be in parliament to speak to MPs, about how they can help make the upcoming National Cancer Plan a turning point for cancer.

For the plan to deliver lasting change, it must be bold, ambitious, and fully funded to help people live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.

This World Cancer Day event is one of our last opportunities before the plan is published to speak to MPs about the key changes we need to see for people affected by cancer- and you can help.

Invite your MP to our parliamentary drop-in and help us ensure the plan is the turning point for cancer we need.

What if I live in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland?

We also welcome MPs representing the devolved nations to meet the Cancer Research UK team to learn about the science and research breakthroughs helping beat cancer in the UK, speak with some of our inspirational Campaigns Ambassadors, discuss our priorities for 2026 and find out how we can support their work advocating for constituents affected by cancer.
